Postpartum Doula Support

  • If you book your postpartum support prior to birth, you will receive a complimentary prenatal visit. During this visit, we will discuss your vision for your recovery and transition into motherhood. We will give you ideas on how to create a village of support so that you are not left alone to figure this out once your baby has arrived.

We also can help you navigate family boundaries, make sure you have all the supplies you will need postpartum, and get your house set up to accommodate your postpartum needs.

  • Whether we were your birth doula or not, we can listen to your birth story and help you process it. You may have confusion over what happened, trauma from an unexpected outcome, or emotions you want to talk through. We are here to help you process these feelings.

  • You’re not crazy- there are hormones responsible for how you are feeling postpartum! We provide an empathetic ear to what you are going through, as we have personally gone through these times as well.

We are trained to recognize the signs of postpartum depression and postpartum anxiety. For further emotional needs such as these, we have an excellent referral list for therapists.

  • Freshly postpartum is a vulnerable place to be physically. Maybe you need assistance getting around the house, going to the bathroom, going up and down stairs, etc. or you are healing from a C-section. If your partner has gone back to work, or you have limited support at home, we can help fill this need.

We also can share how to best care for your perineum and pelvic floor so that you heal as quickly as possible.

  • You’re responsible for a brand new, tiny human now! This can be intimidating. While we encourage all of our mamas to listen to their intuition on how to best raise their children, we understand being a new mom can come with a million questions. We are here for you to help answer questions such as:

Do I need to be feeding my baby on a schedule?

What’s the best place for my baby to sleep?

What do I do with my baby when he or she is awake?

How do I use this baby carrier?

When should I bathe my baby?

And so many more! We would love to guide you into your new motherhood role.

  • We can help with basic breastfeeding support such as showing you positions to nurse in, how to use your pump, when should you, if at all, be pumping, navigating feeding schedules, etc.

If we feel like your support needs a higher level of care, we have excellent IBCLCs (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) that we can refer you to.

  • We can provide education on which formula to choose for your baby, how to properly bottle feed, feeding schedules, and more

  • Postpartum doulas are not coming over to your house to snuggle your baby while you do the dishes. We acknowledge the benefits of mother and baby closeness and respect that. However, if you want to shower, nap, read, etc. by yourself, we will happily wear your baby securely in a carrier while we are housekeeping and doing other things you have asked us for help with!

  • We know how hungry you are as a new mom, especially if you are breastfeeding! When we come over during postpartum visits, we will prepare you meals that can be eaten by the whole family so that you are not worrying about cooking. The meals we will suggest are intentional, packed with nutrients that will support your body as it heals from pregnancy and birth.

  • Mama, you just had a baby and are probably exhausted! Let us clean your house for you, do the laundry, and run to the grocery store. You should be resting and cuddling your new baby, not stressing out about keeping your house up. You deserve the rest that your body is craving.

  • If you have other children, we can care for them during our visit so that you can have a break. All of our doulas are mothers- we completely understand how exhausting taking care of kids is! Let us play with them while you sit on the couch and put your feet up.

  • Need us to clean the fish tank, empty the litter box, or take your dog on a walk? Say no more, we’re here to help!
